Hey thrifty friend! Today we are going to look at a universal phone mount by TruActive. The Thrifty Gadget Guy spent years with his phone in a pocket or backpack when out on a wheeled fun toy. Well the time has come to find a thrifty priced mount for outdoor fun. You can find prices from $10 all the way up to $60. Now TGG doesn’t think $60 is acceptable to hold a phone, enter the TruActive at $16.
Well once I got my package I was ready to try it out within a few minutes. The instructions are sufficient and mounting your base, attaching your phone and adjusting are all of little effort. The mount comes with with sturdy spring powered side arms and a number of silicon corner holders in a variety of colors. TGG’s Iphone X fit very well with plenty of space for much larger phones. A simple knurled nob adjusts tension on the ball socket adjuster and allows for vertical, horizontal and any angle in between. The TruActive mount provides about 2.25 inches of clearance of the mounting surface. The Thrifty Gadget Guy mounted this on his small motorcycle to test the speedometer app he downloaded. The mount was easy to mount and provided a very stable platform for a phone. Vibration was very limited and not enough to create an issue. It was also quite easy to adjust to account for sunlight.
So is it a thrifty purchase……The Thrifty Gadget Guy says if you need a phone mount for any number of uses this is a thrifty buy that’s worth $16. TruActive nailed it with this mount. Ease of use, quality of construction and great price make this a thrifty buy.
